CAS-PRO® Cell Tower Monitoring
The application of CAS-PRO® systems in communication tower management is one of the best uses of technology. This application takes full advantage of the CAS-PRO® design point to provide real-time information to site managers and service organizations. Users have the ability to remotely operate equipment, clear shutdown alarms, and even reconfigure site equipment through the central controller (CAS-PRO®director) control panel. The result is dramatically higher customer confidence, shorter down times, and reduced service costs.
All critical site functions are fully automated such as Remote Security and Access Control, Battery Levels, Tower Lighting Alarms, Air Conditioner Control, Fire & Smoke Alarms, Video and Camera Control, Remote Channel Change and ALL with Reports and Event Logs.
The strength of this application comes from the use of the CAS-PRO®director remote monitoring product. This system is most commonly delivered with quad band GSM cellular data transport, although it is also available with both Iridium and Ethernet connectivities, for complete worldwide installations. The CAS-PRO®director control panel consists of an onboard processor programmed to scan site data for alarm conditions and analog measurements of interest. The device utilizes CAS-PRO® as its primary site data extraction protocol, since this is the standard for onsite power generation systems as well as I/O expansion modules. The device provides excellent generator diagnostic data for performance analysis and expands to accommodate well over 100 analog inputs (volts, amps, fuel level, temperatures, etc.) and 100 digital alarm inputs (generator running, common alarm, door open, smoke alarm, etc).
The CAS-PRO®director control panel maintains a continuous connection with the CAS-PRO® systems at our data storage center. Through this real-time TCP/IP connection, data is posted from the site to the server on a regular basis, along with any unscheduled condition changes. Further, system users may command the site through the web interface. This continuous connection enables the collection of operational data into a parameter archive. Archived data may be used by a service technician for diagnostic purposes, or by an insurance provider to confirm that site conditions are monitored continuously, or to confirm that fuel was actually delivered to the site. The database contents may be shared with a customer database, providing bi-directional integration with customer systems.
