CAS-PRO® Stationary Generator Monitoring

generac commercial generator

Electrical Power is critical to many of our applications today. Our client require clean uninterrupted power 24/7/365. In order to achieve this many have backup systems such as UPS and Generators. Many clients have unattended assets. If a power failure occurs, due to the loss of their normal power source, they need to know that there generator is running and continues to run by monitoring fuel levels and fault conditions. When the generator is in standby they need to know that it is ready to start in the event of a power failure by monitoring the fuel level, oil level, starter battery level as well as other parameters.

Our solution provides this continuous monitoring no matter where the generator is located. We give the client the information he need in order to provide the uninterrupted power required by today's technology.

An internet portal provides the ability to view of all your equipment and it's status by location, and to start and stop equipment. The mapping updates every 15 seconds to provide current status. All data, alarms and events are stored for reference purposes, which is a valuable maintenance tool. Maintenance records can also be entered and stored.

With this system there is no need to dedicate personnel to visually monitor for alarms, and there is no need to send valuable personnel from site to site to check the status of equipment.  If an alarm occurs, the appropriate person can be notified immediately no matter where they are.

How it works:

The monitoring system is typically wired to normally open or closed contacts from various control systems, hardware or sending devices. Upon detecting a change in status of an input, the RTU makes contact with the system server through the cellular data/control channel. The server then sends the programmed message for that input to the desired recipients by email and/or text message to cell phones, pagers or PDA's. Hardwired, Ethernet, and LAN versions are available. All alarms/events and data are stored, date and time stamped and viewable on the customer interface web portal. Remote start and stop capabilties are available through the web portal interface.  Rather than having to go to the site to start or start your system, that function can be performed remotely from your desk or laptop.

One of the biggest comments we hear from customers about standby emergency generator systems is that they didn’t know anything was wrong until they needed the system to perform.  This is true a lot more often than most people realize. Most generator systems sit behind a building or at some remote site with very little to no visual checks or tests on a regular basis. Surprisingly, the number one reason for generator systems not starting and performing when needed is the battery or battery charger. The number two reason is block heaters during cold weather.

CAS-PRO® Portable Generator Monitoring

portable-generatorGenerators, pumps, compressors and other portable equipment deployed at various locations for construction, or emergency conditions, is one of the most difficult situations to manage. Owners always struggle with the location and status of their equipment.  With this in mind, CAS-PRO® has developed a monitoring system for alarming critical situations and locating/tracking your equipment. Imagine always being able to know the exact location, any alarms or conditions that may cause the equipment to not start, or fail once running.  And, if moving, track its every move from a user friendly web portal that updates the location every mile it travels. All alarms/events and movement can be viewed from a customer friendly web portal. Portal data updates every 15 minutes, or during an alarm/event, whichever occurs first.

Portable Generator Monitoring:

Generator Tracking:

  • Utility Power Failure
  • Generator Running
  • Low/High Battery Voltage
  • Low Fuel Level
  • Common Alarm
  • Pre-High Engine Temperature
  • Service Messages
  • Location by GPS Coordinates & Street Address
  • Geo-Fencing Alarm and Tracking
  • Status updates every 15 minutes

CAS-PRO® provides monitor systems and 24/7 monitoring service. Compare the cost and time of sending technicians to check on the status of your generator or pump station controls to the convenience of being automatically alerted if a problem arises. Our monitor system will instantly alert you or whomever you choose with descriptive texts or emails if an alarm is raised in the system. The alerts can be alarm specific, in that particular alarm alerts can be sent to particular individuals.
